WLG – on 4/16/16 sermon

Continuing our series of studies on the book of Romans, our focus this Sat. was on chapters 9 to 11.  Life Group questions led us to some discussion, and two topics discussed were:
  1. Many “church” people, not unlike the Jewish leaders of Jesus’ day, rely much on outward conduct (following rules) as the way to earning acceptance from God.  But the only way to God is through Jesus, God’s gift of grace.  So even the Word of God in Romans 9: 32 refers to Jesus as a “stumbling stone” – a way different from what they had expected.
  2. We’ll say “Jesus is Lord” but often without recognizing the importance of that statement.  If it is indeed true in one’s life, he/she would likely find that it changes his/her priorities.
